CHISHOLM TRAIL ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS KICK-OFF IN ABILENE!
A celebration – 149 years in the making! Labor Day weekend (Sep 2-4) sees Abilene, KS celebrate the Chisholm Trail Anniversary with the “Saddle Up, Let’s Ride!” parade which will include welcoming back the Texas longhorn cattle down the streets of the ol’ town.
Trails, Rails and Tales: Spirit of the Chisholm Trail is an event not to be missed – kicking off the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Chisholm Trail.
If the longhorns don’t get ’em hooked, then maybe gettin’ their boots scootin’ will do the trick with live music performers including Red Steagall and the Boys of the Bunkhouse on the main stage.
The weekend also includes an authentic Native American Spirit Dance performance; genuine Western food and beverages – along with cowboy poets, story tellers, historical re-enactors and a buckaroo camp for the kids.
