LAX CELEBRATES 90 YEARS

Can you imagine flying around the world 90 years ago? Los Angeles International Airport has evolved into a bustling hub since opening on October 1, 1928 and has tons of exciting improvements ($14 billion to be exact!) lined up in the next few years. LAX historian, Ethel Pattison, described the early days of LAX as a ‘dirt patch with rabbits running around’. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth today, as the airport’s growth has meant there are now 9 terminals, over 62 dining and shopping outlets and a 360 degree observation deck. The growth is still ongoing, with the ATM (Automated People Mover), facial recognition system and 12 new aircraft gates to all be completed by 2023.
