SAVANNAH’S EXPERIENCES APP

Visitors to Savannah, Georgia, can now be guided to hotels, attractions and restaurants by a new app developed by the city’s tourism board.

Visit Savannah has released the ‘Savannah Experiences’ app for mobile devices. Free to users it includes points of interest, maps and audio tours in several languages.

Visit Savannah also has dedicated web pages in the same languages on its website, containing information about the historic city’s lodging, restaurants and tours as well as some of the area’s most popular attractions.

‘Savannah Experiences’ includes a GPS Auto Play feature which will start speaking in the selected language as the visitor gets close to a point of interest.

There are also specialised ‘bonus tracks’ on Civil War and city design history.

Around 10% of Savannah’s 13.7 million visitors each year arrive from outside the U.S.
