  • New Hotel openings – Hotel development heats up in St. Pete/Clearwater with addition of 2,000 new rooms by 2017

​As St. Pete/Clearwater obliterates tourism records, hotel developers are seizing the moment with more than a thousand rooms planned for Clearwater Beach alone, and other projects in the works. The new hotel openings include the luxurious Opal Sands located in Clearwater which will offer 230 gulf view rooms and Treasure Island Beach Resort with its one and two bedroom gulf view suites, both due to open in February 2016. Wyndham Grand Resort in Clearwater Beach and Hyatt in downtown St. Pete are slated to open in 2017.

The newly renovated Beach House Suites is a 70-room all suite resort located directly on St. Pete Beach and located one-half mile from the Loews Don CeSar Hotel. The contemporary accommodates are perfect for extended stays, smaller groups and families with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico. Accommodations include a separate bedroom, living area with sofa-bed, dining room and over-sized balcony and feature new washer and dryer, newly appointed kitchenette.   • Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key

The Marriott Suites on Sand Key have announced that they are doing full suite renovations, which includes new floors, furniture, and a fresh look). They will also be replacing the deck behind the pool, as well as updating the area around the pool. However, at no time will the pool be closed. Construction will take place June 13- November 27, 2016, Monday- Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, subject to change.

  • Fenway Hotel

This historic 1920’s building located near downtown Dunedin is expected to once again open its doors to the public as a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel, complete with more than 100 rooms, a bar, a pool and a restaurant. The Mediterranean-style, waterfront property will be added to Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, a chain of 115 luxury hotels the company calls “exactly like nothing else.” More than $11 million in renovations are expected to complete the project.
